July 30th-August 3rd
For the 5th year, PIC will team with other area churches to serve hot lunches to children in our immediate area at the Discovery HOA (approximately 3 blocks from PIC). Healthy lunches are served outdoors at the pavilion weather permitting or in the HOA building on bad weather days. Frederick Community Action Agency’s summer food service program prepares the food provided through the USDA and it is served by volunteers in SOWAC -- Summer Outreach of Walkersville Area Churches program. Over 70% of children in the local community are at risk for hunger in the summer months, when schools are out and the free school lunch program is not available – over 3,000 lunches were served locally in 2017. We need your help to be successful! A sign-up sheet is located in the hallway. Volunteers are needed to help distribute lunches and snacks from 11:15am to 1pm Monday-Friday, July 30th- August 3rd. It is easy work, and past volunteers have really enjoyed getting to know the children. A minimum of four volunteers are needed daily. It truly is an awesome way to literally "serve" the community directly in our backyard. Please see Cindy Hofflinger or Arlinda Sothoron with questions.
On Campus Food and Fellowship! PIC’s junior and senior youth groups will continue to meet the first Friday of every month for food, games, and fellowship from 7-8:30PM. For more information, please contact Richard Cox at: email@example.com.
Can you spare 2-3 hours to volunteer per week or within a month? An occasional errand around town would make life much easier for members. Our mission is to "Empower older adults to live independently in their homes".
Volunteers provide free rides for grocery shopping, medical appointments and other helpful errands.
To volunteer, please call Shannon 301-682-7433 or e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org.
A live broadcast of Sunday services are available for viewing to anyone with a computer or smart phone and a connection to the internet. If you can't make it to church on Sunday, consider this as an option to "attend" the service from wherever you happen to be.
From your internet browser (Safari, Firefox, Internet Explorer) go to the Peace In Christ homepage at www.peaceinchrist.org. Next, click on the large box that reads "Click here to see our video library of Sermons." Here you will see video recordings of past sermons for you to watch at any time. However, if you connect to this YouTube page between 10:25AM and noon on Sunday, a "LIVE NOW" video will be present for you to click on and watch.
